Breast Reduction Methods

For women with breasts that may be dropping and sagging due to the weight that excess skin and fat may place upon the breasts, Dr. Linder may suggest breast reduction surgery. Commonly referred to as “reduction mammaplasty”, breast reduction surgery is a procedure in which excess areas of skin, fat, and glandular tissue are removed from the breasts through a variety of incision methods that include:

• Circular Pattern Incision- During this technique, incisions are created around the areolas.
• Keyhole Pattern Incision – In a keyhole pattern, incisions are placed around the areolas and vertically down the breasts to the breasts’ creases.
• Anchor-shaped Pattern Incision- To help reduce the breasts in this technique, Dr. Linder creates incisions that span around the areolas, down the breasts and horizontally along the breasts’ creases.

When closing the incisions, Dr. Linder is able to tighten, firm, lighten, and create smaller breasts for his patients. Resulting in proportionate sized breasts which complement the patient’s figure.
