Breast reductions have been considered the most satisfying procedure of all plastic surgery procedures we perform in the United States of America. In fact, surveys from the American Board of Plastic Surgery have shown that patients who undergo breast reduction procedures are extraordinarily satisfied more than any other patient because not only do they have functional problems resolved, but they also have a more aesthetically improved bust line.
Improvements in breast reduction surgery are obvious. When performed by Board Certified Plastic Surgeons who are Diplomates of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the results are uniformly good. In general, a breast reduction surgery requires removal of tissue from the inner, outer and superior and central portion of the breast and reapproximating the flaps of tissue back together, usually in what is referred to as an anchor scar.
Dr. Linder performs breast reduction procedures in his Beverly Hills Ambulatory Surgery Center. He specializes in breast surgery with a huge emphasis on breast implant, lift and breast reduction surgeries.
Patients who are satisfied with breast reduction, especially due to the functional impairments that they have, which include severe back pain, neck strain, occipital headaches, grooving along the shoulder blades and ulnar neuropathy syndrome. That simply means numbness in the two small fingers associated with compression of nerves in the shoulder or brachial plexus due to the massive weight of the breasts, pulling the brassiere strap along the nerves and under the armpit area. They also are able to wear normal brassieres and normal clothing. They have reduced rashes and intertriginous hygienic fungal-like and dermatitis infections under the breast creases. With enormous gigantomastic breasts they may have skin ulcerations and bleeding, which can all easily be resolved by the reduction mammoplasty surgery.
Aesthetic-wise, as patients are now more proportionate in body, shape and in size, the breast size can be made more proportionate with the midriff and the thigh areas. The inframammary folds can be reduced in diameter and the nipple areolar complex can be superiorly raised. In other words, the breast lift is normally performed at the same time as the breast reduction. Other aesthetic improvements include better fit in clothes and a more proportionate shape and size.
Once again, breast reduction surgery is one of the most satisfying surgeries we perform as Board Certified Plastic Surgeons.
